Warning.....gross pics ahead!

Don't say I didn't warn you. As I was looking through our pictures that we have saved on our computer I came across some pics from Father's day 2007. We were living in northern Iowa in our first home and we had a good college friend of B's staying with us.

On sunday afternoon we decided to take my in-laws boat out. We shouldn't have since it was way too windy, but we thought our friend hadn't been on the lake before and we should go. All in the the ride was dandy and as we were coming into the slip it got a bit rocky. Well B got the boat in the slip and said " hey Ab, I need to get some weight out of the boat so I can get it up" the boat was bouncing around and it could badly damage the boat.

So I started to get out of the boat set the cooler and my bag on the dock, went to get out and slammed my head into the boat lift. It was a blunt metal piece that hurt like a mother. I thought I had just smacked it pretty hard and I would have a nasty bump. Well I put my left hand over the top of my head and stepped back onto the boat and immediately B ran to me.

I then sat down and took my hand down from my head, it was covered and I mean covered in blood. Ouchy!! Apparently it was also running down my face at this point. B said " honey I need to get the boat up, Shannon is going to help you out and get you upstairs and I will be right up". Our friend Shannon helped me up, and I walkeed up to my in-laws house, got some ice and a rag that I soaked through in about 3 minutes.

So after all that debacle B took me to the hospital and I ended up having to get 6 staples, and a tetnus shot, I hated the shot more than the staples.

So the little joke is that I had sent my dad his gift early and I told him that I emailed him one more gift, he has the same twisted sense of humor as I do. Well he took it to his staff meeting Monday morning and put the pics up on the projetor and said " look what my daughter got me for Father's day". Anyway, seriously, do not go any further if you don't want to see some gross pics, nothing too bloody, but still my head is cut open.

After I got home from the ER, I immediately put my pj's on, I have no idea why it was around 4pm in the afternoon! You can see that my hair id red on the right side of your screen, thankfully I could wash it the next day!

I was most worried that they would have to cut my hair, but they didn't!

Looking a little rough, and had a bad headache! Please excuse the tatas and pj's.

Have a great weekend!

Schools out for summer

Today is my last day at work until mid August. I am beyond thrilled and am not doing a darn thing tomorrow but play with Ruby and run soccer practice. Seriously, I think I am going to sleep till noon, maybe shower and brush my teeth, but that's it. I'm taking the day off. Starting next week I will be watching my 2 nephews and niece 1 and a half days a week, and running a couple of soccer camps throughout the summer.

This summer I am planning on getting B and I organized, as in psycho organized! We have way too much crap in storage and that's not organized. So I am going to go box by box label, purge and donate so we can become as organized as possible! First I am starting with our storage in the basment of B's office, it's a disaster!!!

Then I am planning on bringing a few more things to Casa de B&A such as flatware. B always says we need more flatware at our house. We only have 5 sets out right now. We have 7 more in storage. Then organizing our house. Now it is somewhat organized but not nearly what it should be, again we have way too much crap!!!

I have started organizing our closets, I recently purchased wood hangers. We are going to all wood, from plastic. I found hangers at Nordstrom rack for dirt cheap and thought what better time is there than now....So we've now made the jump to wood people.

Here are a few organizing systems I would love to have, but will be giving them my own little twist.

Happy Thursday!

He loves

I've done this before to give my readers a look as to who this man I speak of really is. Well let's see, B and I met when he stole my parking spot in college when we were both late for work at Abercrombie & Fitch...yes I know cliche we worked at A&F, not a glamorous job by any means, but we were broke college students. So I am dedicating this post to B, all the things he loves.

His chai latte is his go to every weekend...

What more can I say, we bleed black and gold!

Everytime there's a chance to be by the water and fish, he's right there pole in hand.

I married someone who is as nuts about soccer as I am!

His 66 Mustang that he and his dad refinished...It's a beaut!

Lastly, our adorable little girl Ruby, what isn't to love about that face???
Happy hump day!!! Enjoy your short week!

Spring and summer fashion

Each season I try to create some fashion boards to help keep me stylish. I really enjoy playing with my wardrobe and try new things each season with pieces I already have. I really try to purchase only things I can wear for multiple seasons, etc. Well I have created 4 new boards for spring and summer. I love playing with color for spring and summer as well as coloful accessories. See what you think.

This first would be for more of a dressy occasion. I have a few showers, and parties I am going to and love the option of either flats or heels depending on the function.

I can see myself using this next board as a staple! Throw the sweater on the layered tanks in the evning for a casual dinner out. Add a pair of heels for the evening and you've got a hip litle number for drinks with the girls.

I love this tank with the bright colored skirt. I am a huge fan of color in the summer months. I also thought the pop of color with the yellow flats was very fun!

I am a huge fan of dresses in the summer. With that said I am more of a texture kind of gal rather than a print kind of gal. With a simple dress you can pair it will some fun, funky jewels or even a stylish hat and heels.

This last one, I am head over heels for the tank and bracelet!!! I love being comfy yet having some style in the upcoming hot summer/spring months! Have a happy hump day!

Making me happy these days

Lately I have been so busy between soccer, work, family and daily life I have stopped to relish the small things in my life that make me smile. So this post is all about the little things that bring the sunshine into my day.

I have fallen head over heals for this Etsy seller and blog. I love her style, taste and love for life. Go check out her blog and her Esty store, you will die! Sa-Sea Boutique is one of a kind, and her Etsy store is drool worthy. I am currently drooling over her sea horse pillow. It would be perfection in our guest room! I may just have to make a purchase today!

My hubby is quite possibly the sweetest and most kind person I have ever met. He would give a stranger the shirt off his back! Each day when I come into work I have a wedding picture sitting on my desk, it brings a glow to my face to remind me that I am one of the luckiest gals on the earth!

Lately I've been eyeing this sign for my office. I think it would keep me in check when those crazy days get the best of me.

Lastly would be our puppy Ruby! She is the sweetest and most loving puppy! We rescued her from the humane society and we have now figured out that she was probably beaten when she was just a baby by some male. We've put this together for a number of reasons I will not go into. Anyway, when ever I come in the door she always gives me kisses, she cuddles, and loves to have her backside scratched. How could you not love coming home to this face??

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

How I love blogging

Since I began blogging I have loved reading about people's lives and I have discovered some great finds on Etsy. Today I think I may have found my favorite!!! I was reading one of my daily reads Life in the Fun Lane and I came across a link to My Sweet Savannah, well she has an Etsy store so I had to check it out. Low and behold, I am in love!
I love the style of things at Anthropolgie, but my hubby and our check book do not. Well Melanie's Etsy store had the perfect little pot/planter for me! At only $6.00 I couldn't resist! Check out Melanie's Etsy store HERE. I think I may just order a few more for some upcoming birthdays. Thanks Holly for finding this great blog and etsy store! So here is the pot/planter I am now proud new owner of!

Aren't they just too cute for words? I got one in the first letter of our last name. I think I am going to put all of our pens and pencils in it on our long table in the kitchen. Right now it's a catch all for paper, pencils, and pens.

Our little room redo

I've been working on a little master bedroom redo lately. This has been tough due to my very busy schedule with soccer and a little thing called work! But we'ce done it and we are very happy with the changes we've made. Now we rent so no paint, no furniture changes, all we did was rearrange the bedding and change out the pictures above the bed. So see what you think. Here is it before.

And here it is after...

The pictures are from our vacation to Greece, Italy and Turkey, I printed them in a 5x7 and turned them sepia on Snapfish. I purchased the frames from Target and B was nice enough to hang them. So you like or no???

I can't believe I actually paid for this...

B and I have started boot camp this week. We now get up at 5:30am Tuesday and Thursday and have someone bring us to the brink of death those mornings. We actaully signed up and paid for this exhausting 45 minutes. What has life come to?? I would have never thought of paying someone to literally kick my ass at 6am, but now why the heck not??? I have a feeling tonight B and I will be looking a little rough after work and soccer practice. I'm ready to hit the hay now and it's 9:15am. I might curl up under my desk and take a snooze. Did I mention that my sis, mom and stepdad are joining us....It's a whole family affair at boot camp!!

I don't have any actualy pictures of us at boot camp, I would be tortured and brought within and inch of my life by all my boot camp mates if I brought my camera within 100 yards of bootcamp! None of us look pretty at 6am!
On the soccer front, my girls play for the conference championship tomorrow night. Cross your fingers it will be a tough game!!

So true.....

"Whenever God Closes One Door He Always Opens Another, Even ThoughSometimes It's Hell in the Hallway"
A friend sent me an email today and the above passage was in the email. It immediately caught my eye. This completely describes the road B and I have been on. Our faith has really gotten us through this most difficult time, but when people would say put everything in God's hands, I kept thinking to myself well I have and nothing is changing. I still cry because I'm sad, I'm still angry at most everything pregnancy related, and my heart still aches to once again be pregnant.
Then I read that passage and it all made sense. Although one door has shut for us, another one is open, but we are walking through the hallway of hell at this very moment, just waiting to come to the open door of a healthy and happy baby. I have been hoping and praying that the pain we have would go away for many weeks, and will continue to, but I had my ah-ha moment this morning thanks to my dear friend Courtney. Hopefully this hallway won't be too long!!

Happy Birthday Momma~!

Today is my Momma's birthday! I got to spend all day yesterday celebrating with her at the lake! She said it was the perfect day and exactly what they had envisioned when they bought the joint!

So momma, here's to you on your very special day! There's never been a time in my life when I needed you and you didn't drop everything to come to me. As I grew older I thought that I would need you less, but this year has proven to be one of the toughest years of my life. Each step of the way you were there to hold my hand, dry my tears and help heal my wounds. Your tender touch made it all better and today on your special day I wish I could give you the world, it's what you deserve.

You've raised 4 amazing children and we owe it to you for making us the people we are! Someday if I can be half the amazing mom, friend and wife that you are, I will consider myself a success!! I've come to realize even as an adult, I still need my momma!

Enjoy your birthday today, because you go out of your way each and everyday for all of us! Kick your feet up, sip a cocktail, you deserve it! I love you very much!!!

Happy Birthday to the best momma there is!!!!

Random writings from me....

I'm not that interesting but I do use this blog to attempt at being interesting. So here goes nothing.....

First, last Sunday Henry John William was baptized and B was his Godfather. He looked handsome in his new suit and B looked handsome as always. I also took a pic with Noah my Godson and with his godfather his uncle A. I can't believe it's been almost 6 years since Noah was born....Makes me feel old!!!

Us with Mr. Henry!

Next, my soccer team is kicking butt and taking names! Last night they won and beat a top rated team in the state! This means their next game they have to beat one last team and they will be conference champs! I am so, so proud of them, their harwork and dedication they have given me! They deserve this, because no one thought they would be able to attain this fete. We always knew they could do, but now it's time for them to get the recognition they deserve!

Our master bedroom redo is coming along very well. The pillows have arrived, the bedding is in place, and tonight B and I are hanging our new pics above our bed. I will post pics very soon!

Ok so there is my attempt at being interesting, happy hump day!
