3 years ago today

September 30, 2006 B and I were married in front God, friends and family.  It was simply the best day of my life.  I can't explain to you the feelings I had that day.  I felt so overwhelmingly blessed that God had chosen B for me and it was a perfect day at that.  70 degrees not a cloud in the sky and I got to join my best friend, my soul mate, my everything for the rest of my life.

The day couldn't have gone any better!  We danced, we ate, we sang, we cried tears of joy, but most of all, we joined together two families and two lives that are forever changed since that wonderful day.

There are no words to describe how absolutely amazing these past three years have been for me.  My husband is the most supportive person in my life, he's been there just like our vows said in sickness and in health, through thick and thin.  Since that day he has never once strayed from those vows and I am forever greatful that God blessed with him as my partner.

To my dearest B, each day I fall more and more in love with you.  These past three years have been the best years of my life.  I honestly don't know where I would be without you.  You are my rock, my best friend, my soul mate, my everything.  If these past three years is any indication what our future holds, I can't wait.  I promise I will love you just as much in 60 years as I do today.  You are an amazing person inside and out and our child will be so blessed to have you as their dad.  I am so excited to see what our future holds.  I know there is nothing I can't do with you by my side!  I love you more than words can ever express!

Fall shoes

Since it's a lovely 61 degrees here in Iowa today, I thought I would dedicate this post to some amazing fall shoes.  Since I am pregnant and won't be expanding my fall wardrobe all that much, I thought this would be a great 5 months to work on my shoes collection, and what a better time to start than fall.  My mother-in-law turned me to this website called Piperlime and I absolutely love it!  Best of all.....FREE shipping!  Here are some beauties I've found today.....I think they hit the nail on the head this season!

So, now tell me this....What is your favorite thing about fall?

Go check out this blog!

First I love this blog....It's so fresh and chic!  It's called Fun and Fancy free!  Nicole, the blogs owner is fabulous herself and very talented at waht she does!  She's currently having a giveaway for her readers of a customized garland for a nursery.

Aren't they to die for!  Nicole asked each person entering to comment on what they are most looking forward to in mommyhood.  Here's what I wrote....

I am most excited to be a mom because my husband and I have dreamed of this day since we were married 3 years ago. We then started trying to concieve in December 2008. We've now had 2 mirscarriages and having those dreams dashed was heart wrenching. This is now my 3rd pregnancy and after guarding our hearts through the first trimester we feel like we can actually get excited and see our dream coming true. We are most excited because we have dreamed of this day for so many months and to see a light at the end of the tunnel and having a baby to hold in our arms is simply priceless.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Pregnancy weeks 10-12

Week 10:
I've now had some morning sickness, although not pleasant I actual welcome it, as it means I growing a human, which is naturally what we would like!  I've been feeling pretty tired lately and to find me napping after work in the afternoon is not unusual.
Every day I have been living on peanut butter and banana sandwiches for breakfast, with milk, and then chicken noodle soup for lunch.  Every once in a while throw in an Easy Mac for a mid-morning snack.  Yep, that's my diet right about now.  Nothing else sounds good.  Meat makes my stomach cringe and anything ethnic makes me lose my appetite!  So for now I will stick with my diet.
Week 11:
This week we go for our second appointment.  I will be 11 weeks and 5 days.  Nervous is an understatement but I know that there is a bigger plan to all of this and there is nothing I can do.  This is all in God's plan and his perfect timing.
 Week 11 day 5:
We had second appointment today and it went very well.  The doctor listened for the heart beat with a doppler and after a little searching found a nice strong whoosh, whoosh, whoosh....That is the best sound I have ever heard!  Seriously it was music to our ears.  B and I are very excited as we have never had a baby develop this far, so we are a little more at ease, but still cautious.  I think we may let a guard down a bit more next week as we have our NT scan.
Week 12:
Today marks the beginning of week 12.  My iphone application says I am officially in the 2nd trimester and my little sister was so sweet and text me Happy 12 weeks todayThis week we go for our NT scan, and we are both looking forward to maybe being able to make out the baby, instead of it looking like a kidney bean!
Morning sickness, which I have no idea why it's called that because it happens all the time.  I bet a man coined the term!  It's still very much present during the week, but the weekends I find myself feeling less tired and less icky feeling.  I did have a migraine last week and it wasn't pleasant.  I've only had 2 total this whole pregnancy and I consider myself uber lucky!  Thankfully my OB said I could take 3 Tylenol instead of 2, so that helped and then I had a Coke for a bit of pick me up!
12weeks 5days:
Today we had our NT scan and there is no other word to describe it other than AMAZING!  Our baby actually looks like a baby and was moving all around.  Everytime B would make me laugh, the baby would jump up and down and squiggle all around.  The NT scan results were all within range, so everything looks good for half-pint!  Thanks to Diane for coming up with a name for the baby, I've been trying to figure one out and could not for the life of me think of anything...So thank you Diane!   During the NT scan we actually got to SEE the heart beating as well as hear it.  Half-pint's skin is still traslucent so we could actually see it's chest moving and the little heart beating so fast.  Both B and I cried, it was one of the happiest moments in my life.  I know that may sound very cheesy to some, but after going through two losses in the past year, this is a dream come true for us.
We have some amazing pictures from the NT scan that I will share, as well as a 12 week belly shot for my faithful readers!

The little belly you do see, is what I like to call bloat....The baby isn't big enough to make a dent in my tummy yet, but the bloat sure is!
This picture you can see half-pints hand going up towards its face.  Almost like he/she wants to suck their thumb!

and lastly, a profile shot!

As of today I am 13 weeks and 5 days, for those that have asked!  Hopefully it's onward and upward from here!

First appointment

August 5th, 2009

Today I had my first prenatal appointment. No ultra sound, just blood and urine. I am terrified of needles and B couldn't go with me due to an appointment for work, so I was on my own.
The nurse asked me some basic questions, took my blood, which ended up being just fine and sent me on my way. All in all, pretty standard, I've had this appointment before so I knew what to expect. I left wanting to move my next appointment up, but knew I couldn't!
Our first meeting with my doctor and ultra sound is August 24th at 3pm. I had to schedule it then due to work and no one at work knows I'm pregnant, so saying hey, I have to leave for an ultra sound would probably tip them off!! I will be useless at work that day!
Telling you that I am terrified is an understatement.....
On a lighter note this weekend we have wedding of our very good friends and I am going to have to fake drink....Sprite with a lime, here I come!!!

August 24th, 2009
Today we had our first appointment and it went simply wonderful!  We heard a strong heart beat of 189.  I cried and I think B got tears in his eyes.
Our doctor teased B saying, get ready for a little girl!  Other than that, no real news to report.  We have our next appointment on September 10th which I will be 11 weeks and 5 days.  This portion of the pregnancy is more scary than ever because the first time around this is the point in which I miscarried.  Time can not go fast enough, but I can't speed it up and I can't slow it down.....  Only time will tell.

July 19th 2009

Today to say the least I was in total shock....B and I found out that we are once again expecting. We are absolutely thrilled, but terrified all at the same time. I have been feeling a little tired, but that's about it. It looks like today I am about 4 weeks along.

To be honest I had one pregnancy test left in the house. I was refusing to take it and I thought to myself this afternoon, I don't want it in the house anymore so I am just going to use it. Well, it happened to be a digital one which = expensive, but I figured I didn't want it the house. Well after thinking it would come back saying Not Pregnant, the little word Pregnant popped up....I literally had to sit down because I thought I was going to faint.

Monday July 20th:

I called my doctor and went in for bloodwork today. They are chekcing that my HCG levels are doubling. I know have to wait another 2 days to get a repeat level...Urgh, I hate waiting...

Wednesday July 22th:

I went in for my repeat levels and they said that they wouldn't be back until tomorrow!!! Don't they know I need to know NOW!!! So we will have to wait until tomorrow......

Thursday July 23th:

The doctor finally called and said she had some good news for me. My first level was at 60, and my second level was at 200! This is wonderful results!!! My progesterone level was at 28.5, which is said is sky high, which is good.

I will go back a month ago, in June I had what they call a Chemical Preganancy and miscarried at 6 weeks. When my doctor took blood my HCG level was 9, and my progesterone was 16. So you can see why I am delighted with these current results.

My go to tailgate food!

With college football season in full swing I thought I would share a couple of my favorite recipes for tailgating food! Both are B tasted and approved!

First is what we call Super Pickles, or pickle wraps.
What you will need:
2 large jars of dill whole pickles
4 packages Hormel dried beef
2 8oz. containers whipped cream cheese

To start, lay out all the pickles on paper towels. This helps get the moisture off.

take one piece of dried beef and coat with cream cheese. Remember to get the whipped type, this makes it much easier to spread. Then place another piece of dried beef just so the bottom of the coated piece is covered by the top of the uncoated piece of dried beef. Then coat the second piece of dried beef with cream cheese as well. Place the pickle at one end and wrap away. Repeat for all pickles.

My suggestion is to make these the night before and let them set in a container in the refrigerator. This way they are easier to slice on the day of. I then use a bread knife to slice the pickles on game day!

My second go to option is what I like to call tortilla wraps.  Oh so yummy!  These I would also suggest making the evening prior and letting them set-up in a container in the fridge over night.

What you will need:
8oz. cream cheese
8oz. sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4oz. chopped black olives
4oz. chopped green chilies
1 medium onion
8 tortillas
1 bottle of any salsa you would like

In a mixing bowl combine all cheese, green chilies, olives and chopped onion.  Mix well and then spread a layer on a tortilla.  make sure to spread to all edges or the tortilla.  Roll-up and put in containter to set.
It's as simple as that!!  Then slice them the next day and serve with salsa for dipping!

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

For my dear friend Melanie!

Mel and I have been friends so a while, and we both love the blogging world!  She is about the only in real life friend that reads my blog, or that I know of!  If you are someone I know in real life, come out and play!
So anyway Mel commented on my fall decor posts how she is loving white punpkins this year for fall decor.  So I took a further look and now I am in love!  I can not wait to go out and get some this weekend.  I love that they tend to blend with my other house decor yet still are fallish.  So I thought I would bring some great ideas for decorating your casa with white pumpkins.....
As always Mel, simply fabulous my dear!  I love how you think!

Blessings

Today I am going to dedicate this post to blessings...
A few things I feel so blessed to be able to have.
1. A wonderful relationship with my grandparents.  Not all people get to know them for as long or as well as I have, and I know someday they won't be here with me, nothing can every replace the wonderful memories I have of them.
2. A great job!  I absolutely love my job and the people I work with.  Honestly, no complaints..How many people can say that?
3. Four parents that love me unconditionally.
4. A husband who helps cook, clean, do laundry, iron, etc.  He cleans the bathrooms better than I do!
5. My little sister coming to visit today, for 10 whole days!!
So here's a question to my readers....How are you blessed??
I will leave you with a cute picture of my baby.....
