Half-pint's digs

After many months of thinking what I wanted our nursery to look like, it is finally done!  First, I will start with, we are team green as in we won't know if half-pint is a boy or girl until delivery.  Everyone keeps asking, you really don't know?  Yep, we have no desire to know, we wanted to be surprised at delivery.  We do however have 4 names.  2 boys, 2 girls that we will be taking to the hospital with us.

Back to the nursery.  This room is tiny!  By no means could it fit a king bed and have any room to walk, but it does the job for the bambino and I like how it turned out. I was going for more texture than color in the room.  We first chose a latte color for the walls.  We were painting the rest of the house and our bedroom is the same color so I thought what the heck.  We then were going to go with white furniture, but I fell in love with a black crib. From then I kind of start throwing things together and somehow they all seem to work.  The biggest thing for me was that I hated the closet doors.  They were oak and I couldn't imagine sitting in the glider looking at them all the time and loathing them, so we took them out and I purchased some curtains that I am midly in love with.  So here you go!  Pics, of half-pints digs.

Looking in from the doorway

View from the other direction.
Close up of the crib with Suzy the sheep and a mini Ruby just hanging out.  Yes, I know that these will have to come out before the baby goes in. Also, the blanket my grandma knitted for my mom when I was baking in my mom's belly.

Above the crib we have a 16x24 of this pic.

The verse is:
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).   This pic taken by my talented friend Amy Doerring.

Our glider, nothing too exciting, but comfy and I like the pillow.

Pedestool table I painted, it used to be red.  Also, the Willow Tree Angel we were given after my first miscarriage.  I've had it by my bedside this whole time and I thought it was only fitting to have our first angel watching over HP, because without our first baby becoming an angel, we would never have HP.

The dresser/changing table my stepmom refinshed for us, with storage bins below and all of half-pint's toys in a bin to the left.

Close up of storage bins for bibs, wipes and diapers

Can you see my new love....the curtains??

Cheap nursery art.  I went to Hobby Lobby and found some scapbook paper and frames to add some texture with a hint of color.

More nursery art.  Our maternity pics, and some scrapbook paper for more texture.

Curtains for closet doors.  They are from Bed, Bath and Beyond.  Please excuse the sun glare.

And lastly, half-pints closet.

We sure do have a lot of green and yellow!
Hope you enjoyed the tour!  Now come on half-pint I am ready for you to be here!

Hi everyone! I had a few of you ask a couple of questions. First, the chair is actually from Wal-Mart. I found it on a random google search and we ordered it and shipped it free to the store. I was very hesitant about ordering but there was a great return policy right back to the store. This chair ended up being 1/4 the cost of the one I wanted at Pottery Barn! The only downfall was that the ottoman did not glide. Brendan added gliders to ottoman so now we are in business, both the chair and ottoman glide and thus far we are very happy with the chair.

Kate, I would love to paint the oak trim! I have thought this since day one. However our whole house has oak trim and at 37 weeks pregnant painting the entire houses trim would be a bit much. Brendan used to build houses and he does not believe in rolling woodwork as it leaves streaks. So we would be spraying the woodwork and again, just a huge project to take on. We will someday paint it all!!!

It's beautiful Abby, I love it!!!! I really love the glider, I wish I would have purchased a wider one too, I can barely fit the boppy in mind. You will understand in a few weeks! :) Take care.

I suppose you do have more important things to worry about right now than your trim, don't you? ;) We're in the process of painting all of the trim in our house - such a bear but I'm loving the results!

Abby -
Which glider did you go with from Wal-Mart? I too am in love with the PB gliders...but Wal-Mart better meets my budget. Thanks!

Here is a link to the glider and ottoman. We then purchased the slipcovers to each piece in beige.

Again, the ottoman does not glide. We took it apart and added gliders to the bottom. Well Brendan did, I didn't!
