My best friends wedding part II

The long awaited post is here!  I did try to put this up a few days ago, only to complete the post and my computer shut off.... I was livid!  Now I have time to write this post, Drew is napping, I have a good hour to make sure I include everything.  So here we go!

The day started with hair and makeup in the Mother of the bride's suite.  We had our makeup airbrush, which was fabulous!  The guy who did our makeup was talking to be about all that makeup is and can be and referring to the bridesmaids as the path to the garden leading to the bride....Ok, dude, I take all of 5 minutes at the most each day to put on makeup.  I think makeup is just that....makeup!  Although he was great and did a wonderful job!  We were alternating between hair and makeup at this point.  So I went from makeup to hair.  Let me tell you about the hair.  The gal who did it was sooo sweet, and I told her I would like a side part and a low bun.  My hair was already curly from the rollers that were put in.  I also showed her a picture of Carrie Underwood, with her hair just that way..

Carrie Underwood, the style I wanted

And this is what I got...

Not what I wanted at all.  It was OK, and I wasn't going to be THAT bridesmaid that threw a fit over her hair, so I went with it.  I absolutely loved the front, so I just ignored the back!
The brides hair on the other hand was simply fabulous!  I loved it!

Both of us with everything except our dresses on.

Again, I loved everything but the back, but what are ya gonna do?  Everyone else was complimentary and all that really matters is that my friend the bride was happy with everything she had, in which she was!
Then the flowers arrived and they were stunning!

Amanda's (the bride) bouquet was amazing to say the least, I loved it!

After lunch it was that time...Time to get dressed!

Our dresses
The beautiful bridal gown

Amanda looked absolutely beautiful in her dress.  I loved the pleating at the bottom.

It was then time for pictures where I didn't have my camera.  Amanda's wedding planner and her staff, which rocked by the way took all of our stuff and took it to the church and then to the reception.  I had to do nothing, it was fabulous! After pictures was the ceremony and again no pics.  Then we hopped on a bus and it was off to the reception!

We arrived and were greeted by appetizers and drinks.  Who wouldn't love that?  Their signature drink was peach sangria made by our wonderful friends at Jasper Winery.   They also had liquor infused pomegranate sorbet.  That stuff was AMAZING!  We took a few more pictures on the gold course at the reception and then it was time to PARRRTAAYYY!

The newlyweds!
Cocktail hour and dinner were held under a tent.  Then the clubhouse was turned into a swanky lounge for dancing.

My parents were also there, so we took a few pictures with them.
My momma and me.
My step dad, Brendan and me.

We had to get a pic just the two of us a fancied up!  This happens once in a great while, so we took advantage!

My arm looks huge in that pic...Oh well!

We had dinner with a few of my oldest friends!
The newlyweds danced and cut their cake.

Speaking of their cake...It was divine!  The same gal made our wedding cake four years ago.  She hasn't lost her touch!

Then we danced the night away, and they lived happily ever after!

The newlyweds had their last song "Walking in Memphis"  and then rode off into the sunset.

Overall it was a fabulous wedding.  We had a blast and I was so honored to stand by my best friend as she married the man of her dreams!

If you've gotten this far, kudos to you! I have a few great guest bloggers lined up for you, I hope you enjoy them!  Have a great week!
Cheers!

My best friend's wedding

This past weekend I was blessed to be able to take part in my best friend's wedding.  She had asked me to stand up with her about a year and half ago and I was simply honored to be by her side on her wedding day.  Amanda and I have been friends since kindergarten.  We've shared every big event you could ever imagine, we danced together at the same dance school for over 15 years and we even were on the same relay team together when we won state in high school.  Amanda an I have shared so many wonderful memories and 4 years ago this month she stood by me as I married Brendan.  This past weekend was icing on the cake.

The wedding started Friday morning with a beautiful bridal luncheon hosted by Amanda's aunts at Jasper Winery.  First, I love Jasper Winery because it's our friends that own it and we all know I love wine, and it was beautiful.  Amanda introduced each of one of us bridesmaids with a touching story and she made me tear up when she got to me.  We then moved on to rehearsal and then the fun began.  The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents and it was simply FABULOUS!  Amanda and Chase, her now hubby decided to invite all out of town guests.  So the rehearsal dinner had 180 people at the function.  Let me tell you this event was outside at a historical mansion it was decked out, it was amazing.  I am in love with long tables and that is exactly what they had!  Take a look!

Me and the beautiful bride

Now just some fun ones of my friends and me.

So a little tidbit....At the end of the evening, all the groom's friends whom were standing up with him the next day were starting to give toasts.  No one and I mean no one was speaking in Amanda's honor.  I felt awful, someone needed to say something.  First, I hate public speaking. I can talk to brick wall one on one, but I hate public speaking.  I also wanted my best friend to be represented at her own rehearsal dinner.  So, in front of 180 people most of which were strangers, I got up and spoke and about how wonderful of a woman my friend Amanda is, how blessed I feel to have known her for so long, how I could tell the moment that she met Chase she felt complete and that I had no doubt in my mind that they will have a long life of love and happiness together.
Although during my toast my palms were sweaty, I felt like I was going to pee my pants, I am so glad I did.  Both of the bride's parents along with a few of her aunts and uncles came up to me afterwards and thanked me, I knew then although I was nervous, it was the right thing to do.
I will post pics from the big tomorrow of the next day.  They are sure to not disappoint.  It was a huge wedding.  The largest I've ever been to!  We had a blast and I had my makeup airbrushed.....LOVED IT!
Happy Monday!

For my dear friend Melanie!

Mel and I have been friends so a while, and we both love the blogging world!  She is about the only in real life friend that reads my blog, or that I know of!  If you are someone I know in real life, come out and play!
So anyway Mel commented on my fall decor posts how she is loving white punpkins this year for fall decor.  So I took a further look and now I am in love!  I can not wait to go out and get some this weekend.  I love that they tend to blend with my other house decor yet still are fallish.  So I thought I would bring some great ideas for decorating your casa with white pumpkins.....
As always Mel, simply fabulous my dear!  I love how you think!

Blessings

Today as I was driving along for no apparent reason I started thinking how blessed I truly am. I know sometimes we all tend to focus on what isn't going prefectly in our life, but today I am going to take a minute and list 5 reasons I am so blessed.....I would like to make this a weekly gig, but who knows if I will remember!! We shall see.....

1. My amazing family.....we laugh, we cry, we support each other, doesn't get any better than that!

2. My sweet puppy! We have now had her for over a year and I can't imagine our lives without her!

3. Our good health, we haven't had to deal with any major illnesses and I am so thankful!

4. A great job! In a time like this I am so blessed to have a stable job that I love!

5. Wonderful friends. What would I do without these amazing women!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!
