Made my first trip to L&D last night

And it wasn't for a tour!  After dinner last night B and I had great plans to watch the Hang Over.  If you haven't seen it.....do!  I was still sitting at the table and said, I really want a snickers blizzard, B was hesitant as he wanted to get the movie started, but I insisted and he said well ok, as long as you get me a dipped cone.  So we put on our coats and head out the front door.  Now we have a garage that we could have exited through, but no dice.  As I going to walk down the stairs, B says, watch out for that ice Ab.  What do ya know, I step to the side of it, and bam, I am on the ground.  B said it looked like I slid into homeplate.

I was just fine, I landed on my hip and rumpus, which is fully padded.  I insisted that we go get ice cream, because I knew in the back of my mind that they were going to ask me to come into L&D, and let's be honest, I really wanted some ice cream!  So about 10 minutes later, yes that's how small our town is.  We were back home and I called L&D.  They said they would like me to come up, to run a KGB....or something of that nature.  I thought it sounded like the Russian mafia.

When we arrived at L&D the nurses greeted us and were some of the nicest people I've ever met!  We were the only ones up there and they put half-pint and I on monitors and half-pint was so active and I had maybe 2 contractions that were very mild in the 3 hours we were there.  They did the needed tests and thankfully everything came back normal.  No placenta abruptions, nothing to be utterly concerned about. Phew!  There were a few things that they said are going to need to be closely monitored.  That would be my blood pressure getting higher and some protein in my urine.  They said it could emphasis could point to preeclammpsia.  Hopefully not, but my doctor will read all the tests today and give me a call.  I truly hope not, but maybe me falling on the ice was a blessing in disguise.

All in all, I feel fine.  Thankfully there is ample padding on my rumpus and half-pint is moving like crazy this morning!
