Half-pint has been given an eviction notice!

I went in for my monitoring today and my blood pressure was once again elevated, so they ran some more tests.  I had to have blood draw once again and let me tell you, the gal that took my blood was with out a doubt was by far the best one I've ever had.  Seriuously, I didn't even feel it!  Now if only she could also be the epidural man...then I would be in heaven.
Anyway, the tests came back and were borderlining me developing pre-eclampsia.  So we then went to see my OB and she told us that we needed to discuss induction.  She said that the risks of induction are far less than those of me continuing to carry this baby.  My OB is also pregnant with twins and I flat out asked her, if this was you, what would you do?  She told me, exactly what I am suggesting to you.  So we came up with a plan that starts Monday.  I will be going to the hospital and given Cytotec, and then sitting there for 3 hours.  This is supposed to help get labor started as my cervix is not favorable for induction quite yet.  That very well could put me into labor, if not I will go back on Tuesday and be given the medication again.  My doctor is then going to let me rest of Wednesday and if nothing yet, Thursday will be full on induction day.

Although this was not how I had originally planned to labor and deliver, I understand that sometimes your body does not cooperate and I completely trust my doctors suggestions and know that she has both half-pint and my best interest at hand.  If it weren't for my high blood pressure and tests coming back borderline she would have let me go a full week past my due date, but mother nature has other plans.  So hopefully sometime next week we will have an outside baby!

One thing I did notice about next Friday, because I am banking on induction taking more than 24 hours.  Last year on March 26th I was in the hospital having a D&C after I miscarried at 12.5 weeks.  That was one of the worst days of my life.  I have no doubt in my mind that God wants us to be able to remember March 26th for a much different reason.  It's amazing to me to think that there is any other explanation than that.  Half-pint will always have a guardian angel in our first baby.

On that deep note, have a great weekend!

How exciting Abby! If half pint makes his/her way out on March 24th, we'll share a birthday. :) But I think the 26th would be much more special.

Can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl!

Wow I'm so glad you're having a baby now and not another D&C. I'm getting induced Tuesday so we'll both have outside babies next week. Best of luck to you, I can't wait to see pictures of your new addition!

Sorry about your blood pressure, but to have a date must be exciting!

Don't worry about the epidural; if wish someone would have told me that. I had a spinal, but the anticipation was way worse than the procedure which didn't hurt at all!
