When we first moved to our town home from St. Louis, I made an upholstered headboard. It was OK, but I wasn't in love with the fabric, we couldn't paint the walls and again it was just OK.
This past weekend I think I began my nesting phase as I have gotten about 10 projects done that I have been meaning to do for the past month. One being to recover our headboard. Friday my mom and I went fabric shopping and I came across some fabric that I immediately fell in love with. Our master bedroom is mostly plain colors so I thought it needed some texture. Our bedding is dark so I needed to lighten up the space. After looking for oh about 5 minutes I went with this one and couldn't be happier.
Here's what it started as:
and my re-vision
Same bed....same dog, different bedding and headboard cover. It was super easy to do. First Brendan removed all the staples for me, then I purchsed 3 yards of fabric, so I didn't have to have a seam down the middle of the headboard. With the leftover fabric my mom is making me a throw pillow for our bed. Then I went to town with my staple gun and about 20 minutes later..VIOLA, a facelift for our room!
Can you tell Ruby likes to be the center of attention?
