I believe in miracles

I have an older sister named Emily, she's 5 years older than I am and we are best friends as well as sisters.  We talk almost each and every day.  One random Tuesday I got my daily call from Em and she said, hi Ab, I'm pregnant.... Now, a little back story.  Emily and her husband have three beautiful children ages 7, 5 and 2.  They were done having kids, or so they thought.  They thought their family was complete.   They also had gone through a tough battle of infertility with each of her three previous pregnancies.

When Emily told me this news, she was obviously in shock, and I tried to calm her fears, I said Em, it will be just fine, you are a wonderful mom, you have a loving home, and a great supportive husband, you can do this.  After the shock wore off, Emily and her husband were more than overjoyed to welcome a fourth child into their family.  Emily went to her initial pregnancy screening and had an ultra sound.  We have the OB and she's absolutely wonderful to say the least.  The ultra sound went perfectly everything was great except......There were TWO BABIES, TWINS, IDENTICAL TWINS!  Emily, about passed out on the ultra sound table.
After swallowing that large pill, she composed herself, and gave me a call, she again was in shock, who wouldn't be.  First, you thought you were done having children, then you think you're going to have one more baby...but nope, surprise, God has other plans, you're having TWINS!  Needless to say, Emily was in shock for a few days, but still overjoyed that the twins were measuring on track and there were two strong heartbeats in her belly.  She is now entering her second trimester and getting excited to welcome the twinkies, as I've dubbed into their family.

I share this story with you all for a few reasons.  First, I'm a Christian woman and I truly believe that this was God's plan for my sister and her family, although we may think we have the best laid plans, it truly is all in his hands.  I also shared this because Emily and her husband battled infertility with all three of her previous pregnancies,  she had treatments to conceive each of her three children and absolutely nothing with the twinkies.  If these babies aren't a miracle, I don't know what is.  This happening to my sister has strengthened my faith in miracles.

The twinkies should be making their arrival in the middle of August and my 5 year old niece who has 2 brothers already has everyone and anyone praying that these babies are girls...She wants 2 little sisters!  She wants so badly to dress them up!  She says she already has 2 brothers and they're OK, but they don't like her pink tutus.

Have a great weekend everyone!

That is truly amazing and wonderful. It reminds of a woman whom I met recently. She had a baby (now 18), another now 16 then had her tubes tied, got pregnant again somehow ten years later, had her tubes retied and is now pregnant with twins. Sometimes it's just meant to be I think.

How exciting! I hope your niece's hopes and prayers for two little sisters comes true and they as close to each other as you are to your sister.

Awwww, I kind of want them to be girls so your nieces dream comes true. She sounds like she'd be a great big sis to little girls!
